Farmingville, NY -  On April 23, Councilman Kevin LaValle (left) and Councilman Michael Loguercio (right) were at Lighthouse Mission in Bellport to deliver 6,000 grocery bags donated by Charles Gallagher, owner/operator of ShopRite Supermarkets in Selden, Lake Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson Station. Lighthouse Mission’s Youth Director, Pastor Mike Caiazzo, was on hand to collect the bags which are needed for the mission to deliver food and other items to people in need. Pastor Mike reached out to Councilman Loguercio and asked if there was anything that he could do to help him find a benefactor who could donate bags. The Councilman did not have to go far. He contacted Councilman LaValle, his colleague on the Town Board, to see if he could help. Councilman LaValle called Mr. Gallagher, who donated 6000 plastic bags to the mission. Councilman Loguercio said, “I was more than happy to help Pastor Mike and the mission. They do such good work in the community and people need them even more during these difficult times. I thank Councilman LaValle for his assistance and Charlie Gallagher for his very generous donation.”

Councilman LaValle said, “When I heard from Councilman Loguercio that Lighthouse Mission needed help, I knew right away who to ask. Charlie Gallagher and ShopRite have always answered the call, especially during the holidays and time like this. He is committed to helping people throughout the community and I thank him for all he does.”
