[ARCHIVED] Property Tax Payment Period Extended Until June 21

Town Seal

Farmingville, NY - After strong lobbying from the Brookhaven Town Board, Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued an Executive Order enacting an extension for the payment of property taxes, without penalty or fines, for residents living in Suffolk County. This extension applies to all residents, similar to the extension of payment of federal and state income taxes, and has no restrictions related to impacts upon income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor extended the time period for paying property taxes until June 21.

According to Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy, any payments made after June 1 should be made out to "Suffolk County Comptroller."

  • Residents paying their property tax bills can pay their bill online.
  • Residents wishing to pay their taxes by mail may do so by sending payment to: Suffolk County Comptroller, 330 Center Drive, Riverhead, NY 11901

Residents who have further questions about paying their property tax bill after June 1, 2020 may contact the Suffolk County Comptroller at 631-853-5040.
