Farmingville, NY - On September 15, Supervisor Ed Romaine and members of the Town Board presented Certificates of Appreciation to the Town’s housekeeping staff in recognition of International Housekeeper’s Week. Held every year on the second week of September, International Housekeeping Week celebrates the contributions cleaners make throughout various industries. Companies and associations both large and small use this time to celebrate these workers in their own unique way. This year, the Town’s Housekeeping staff has taken the lead role in the daily disinfecting and cleaning of Town Hall during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it safer for everyone. Pictured left to right are Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilman Dan Panico, Real Estate Manager Mike Reilly, cleaning staff members Maicol Cordoba, Hector Rosa, Thomas Lutz, Ana Gonzalez, Councilman Kevin LaValle and Councilwoman Jane Bonner.
International Housekeeping Week was founded by IEHA (formerly International Executive Housekeepers Association) in 1981 as a way to give thanks to the frontline staff who too often go without the praise they deserve.
