Farmingville, NY – On May 19, Councilman Michael Loguercio (left) hosted his first recycling event of the year in Council District 4 at the Longwood Middle School. It was held in partnership with the Town of Brookhaven’s Department of Recycling and Sustainable Materials Management and Teachers Federal Credit Union, who have co-sponsored the recycling events with the Town since 2015. More than 3,500 lbs. of paper, two full boxes of pharmaceuticals and 3,149 lbs. of electronics were collected for recycling. Pictured with Councilman Loguercio are the staff from Quality Shredding.
Councilman Loguercio said, “This event has grown more popular every year we do it. I’d like to thank the Town’s Department of Recycling and Sustainable Materials Management, the Longwood School District, the Suffolk County Sheriff and all the residents who stopped by to do their part and help protect the environment by recycling.”
The next recycling event in Council District 4 will be held on Saturday, October 20 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at the South Country Public Library, 22 Station Road in Bellport. For more information, call 451-TOWN (8696) or visit our Recycling page.
