Ken's Krew and Disability Employment Awareness

The Town of Brookhaven's Disability Task Force supports the mission of Ken's Krew, which is an organization that provides job placement, training, and support for individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities in competitive employment.

Coffee with the Supervisor: Atlantic Marine Conservation Society

In this episode of Coffee with the Supervisor, Supervisor Ed Romaine speaks with return guest, Robert DiGiovanni, founder and chief scientist of the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society via Zoom. The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society conducts aerial surveys and live animal captures to collect and disseminate data to environmental managers, ensuring the long-term survival of critical members of our ocean ecosystems.

Brookhaven Town Hall In Person Tax Payment Changes

Town of Brookhaven Receiver of Taxes, Louis J. Marcoccia has announced changes in the way that residents can pay their taxes in-person at Town Hall. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Town Hall is closed to the public, but every department is staffed and open for business Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Property taxes can also be paid by mail or online using e-check or credit card. Read More...

Christmas Tree Burn 2020

A dramatic demonstration to illustrate the destructive fire hazard associated with the improper care of live Christmas trees . Utilizing a “burn pod” furnished to emulate a living room, members of the Town’s Division of Fire Prevention attempted to ignite a fresh Christmas tree, which did not burn. They replaced the watered tree with a dry, unwatered tree which quickly ignited in a ball of fire, causing damage to the items in the “burn pod.” The Chief Fire Marshal also demonstrated the proper use of Christmas tree lights , menorahs in use during the holidays.

Councilwoman Jane Bonner sits down with Casey Maloney, Director of Development for Special Olympics New York and some of the Special Olympians to talk about the sports, and the 2020 Polar Plunge at Cedar Beach.
