Farmingville, NY - On January 8, Councilman Neil Foley (left) presented a compost tumbler to Tommy Lawlor (center) from Patchogue, the winner of the Town of Brookhaven’s “Arbor Day Compost Tumbler Giveaway” in Council District 5. The contest was held in December on the Town’s Facebook page with a winner selected from each Town Council District. Also pictured is Nicole Pocchiare (right), the Town’s Environmental Educator.

Councilman Foley said, “Although we had to cancel our annual Arbor Day celebration in April due to the pandemic, we still wanted to increase awareness about protecting the environment and reducing our waste stream. Congratulations to Tommy and I wish him a bountiful harvest in his garden this year.”
