Farmingville, NY - On March 30, the Brookhaven Youth Bureau and Suffolk Community College will host a free and virtual seminar for parents and students who are interested in enrolling in college. Please visit the Town website to learn more about the program and rsvp. Representatives from Suffolk Community College will discuss the college application process, financial aid opportunities, scholarship opportunities and the various programs and services the college offers to students. Much of the information provided can be used toward the overall college application process.

Supervisor Romaine said, “It is great to see Suffolk Community College and the Brookhaven Youth Bureau are making use of technology in order to continue offering this program to parents and students. As a former teacher, it is gratifying to know students and parents will gain a better understanding about the many opportunities available to them.”

Councilman Michael Loguercio, who serves as the Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau said, “As a parent, I know there are a lot of questions when it comes to applying for college. This program will provide clarity for both parents and students in Brookhaven Town.”

The seminar will last approximately one hour. Each presenter will speak for approximately 20 minutes and there will be time for questions. Participants are asked to register in advance by visiting the Town website and an email will be sent to you with a Zoom link to join the seminar.
