Farmingville, NY –  Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro joined Councilwoman Jane Bonner to announce the completion of the first paving project of the 2017 paving season – a large-scale, 25-road paving project in Coram’s Strathmore Court neighborhood.

Before milling and paving began, this project involved the replacement of 20,150 square feet of aprons, 9,130 linear feet of curb, and 1,380 square feet of sidewalk, as well as drainage improvements and the removal of concrete median islands from the two dozen courts throughout the development to allow for safe emergency service access. The total cost for this project was $1,200,000.

“This was an extensive and total reconstruction project that began last year,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “We were able to complete this project with a combination of Town labor and contractor support, providing much needed improvement to the residents, all the while coming in 20 percent under budget.”

Roads paved during this project include: Appomattox Court, Braddock Court, Burgoyne Court, Charleston Court, Charlottesville Court, Cornwallis Court, Delaware Court, Farragut Court, Federal Lane, Fredericksburg Court, Georgian Court, Gettysburg Court, Hampton Court, Hancock Court, Lexington Court, Merrimac Court, Monitor Court, Norfolk Court, Petersburg Court, Potomac Court, Sharpsburg Court, Shiloh Court, Strathmore Court Drive, Vicksburg Court and Yorktown Court.

“The paving and concrete work completed in the Strathmore Court development makes it safer for all who travel and live along these roadways,” said Councilwoman Jane Bonner. “I thank Superintendent Losquadro and the men and women of the Highway Department for getting this project done in my district and I look forward to working with them on several additional projects throughout this year.”
