Farmingville, NY - On February 11, Councilman Michael Loguercio (second from left) presented a compost tumbler to Alyssa Ganut (right) from Middle Island, the winner of the Town of Brookhaven’s “Arbor Day Compost Tumbler Giveaway” in Council District 4. The contest was held in December on the Town’s Facebook page with a winner selected from each Town Council District. Also pictured are Town Environmental Educator, Nicole Pocchiare (left), Town Recycling Coordination Aide, Zachary Sicardi (third from right) and Alyssa’s son Julian (second from right).
Councilman Loguercio said, “Even though the Town’s annual Arbor Day celebration in April was canceled due to the pandemic, it is important that we stay on course to protect the environment and reduce our waste stream. Congratulations to Alyssa and Julian and I thank them for helping to make Brookhaven a greener place to live.”
