Supervisor Romaine Announces Emergency Food Drive to Help Residents Affected by COVID-19 Pandemic

Farmingville, NY – Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Program is holding an emergency food drive to help residents in need who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The drive will take place from March 22 through April 23. Food drop off locations include:

  • Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville
  • Brookhaven Animal Shelter, 300 Horseblock Road, Brookhaven
  • Coram Fire Department, 303 Middle Country Road, Coram
  • College 101 Resource Center, 290 Main Street, East Setauket
  • Brookhaven Town Highway Department, 1140 Old Town Road, Coram
  • Brookhaven Town Parks and Recreation Administration, 286 Hawkins Road, Centereach
  • Brookhaven Town Vehicle Control, 550 North Ocean Avenue, Patchogue

Suggested donations include: canned fruits and vegetables, canned sweet or white potatoes, canned meats, instant mashed potatoes, soup, pasta, canned pasta, jar or canned sauce, macaroni & cheese, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, juice, snacks, cake mix, icing, pudding and Jello.

“There are many residents struggling to decide whether to pay the electric bill or buy groceries,” Supervisor Romaine said. “The pandemic has brought financial hardship to many and I want to thank the Youth Bureau and kind-hearted Brookhaven residents whose contributions to this drive will help our neighbors in need.”

Councilman Michael Loguercio, Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau said, “Brookhaven residents and the Brookhaven Youth Bureau always rise to the challenge of helping our fellow neighbors who are in need. Thank you to everyone in advance who contributes to this drive. Your contribution will make a difference to families in Brookhaven Town.”

INTERFACE is a partnership between individuals, generous corporate neighbors and the Town of Brookhaven united in a shared effort to give assistance to Brookhaven’s less fortunate residents all year round.
