Farmingville, NY – For the second year in a row, the Brookhaven Youth Bureau is holding a Virtual Job Training Workshops Program for youth ranging from 16 to 24 years old. The program will run Monday through Friday from May 24 through July 30. Anyone who is interested in participating in this program must schedule a Zoom appointment by calling the Youth Bureau directly at 631-451-8011. The topics covered during the workshops will include:
Supervisor Ed Romaine said, “A common belief among young people is they may not be able to get a job because they don’t have experience. This program helps youth understand the life skills they have developed can lead to meaningful employment.”
“Finding a job can be a stressful process,” said Councilman Michael Loguercio, Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau. “The Youth Bureau’s Virtual Job Training Program does a great job of preparing our youth for this process and in doing so builds their confidence and helps them stand out to employers.”
