Brookhaven, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Jane Bonner have announced the resurfacing of two main arterial roadways in Miller Place and Mt. Sinai: Harbor Beach Road and Mount Sinai Coram Road.
Prior to paving Mount Sinai Coram Road from Miller Place Road to just north of the Willow Creek Golf and Country Club, crews repaired and replaced damaged concrete curbing, sidewalks, aprons and ADA-compliant handicap ramps. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $410,000. Prior to resurfacing Harbor Beach Road and Landing Road, crews inspected and made drainage improvements. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $400,000.
Superinte022ndent Losquadro said, “Harbor Beach Road sees a great deal of traffic, particularly this time of year, as residents flock to Cedar Beach; it is now safer for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. Similarly, Mount Sinai Coram Road is a very heavily-traversed roadway that was also in need of resurfacing. I was grateful to kick off our 2021 paving season with the completion of these two projects.”
Councilwoman Jane Bonner said, “Thanks to the leadership of Superintendent Losquadro and the work of the men and women of the Highway Department, paving on these two roadways is now complete and ready for the summer season. Soon, both of these roads will get busier with more summer traffic, but they will be safer for drivers, bike riders and pedestrians alike.”
