Councilwoman Bonner Honors Coram Resident for Helping to Keep His Community Clean

Farmingville, NY – On June 10, Councilwoman Jane Bonner presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Mel Silverman, a long-time Coram resident who has embraced the term “Keep Brookhaven Beautiful” as a personal mission. Mr. Silverman has been picking up paper and other trash from Coram streets for decades. Councilwoman Bonner said, “Mel Silverman takes such pride in his community and he has done it for many years without fanfare. It’s time that his efforts are recognized, and he is thanked for his commitment to making Brookhaven Town a better place to live. As a senior citizen who takes great pride in his community, Mel sets a great example for all to follow.”
