Farmingville, NY – On July 1, Supervisor Ed Romaine (right) was joined by (left to right) Councilman Michael Loguercio, Councilman Neil Foley and Suffolk County Legislator Rob Calarco at the site of the new bandshell under construction at the Town’s Veterans Park in Medford. The bandshell is a joint project by the Town and County. The funding was secured through a Suffolk County Downtown Revitalization Grant and a Caithness “Community Benefits Package” Grant. Town of Brookhaven Parks Department staff are handling the construction of the new bandshell. It is expected to be completed before the end of July.
Supervisor Romaine said, “Veterans Park has become a center of activity in the Medford community and the new bandshell will certainly allow for more events. This is another good example of how different levels of government can work together to benefit our residents.”
Councilman Foley said, “Medford residents asked for a bandshell at Veterans Park and the Town took the steps to make it happen. I thank Legislator Calarco for his help to secure the funding so we could get this done before the end of the summer.”
Councilman Loguercio said, “The new bandshell will be a great addition to Veterans Park and the Medford community. Thanks to the men and women of the Town Parks Department for their efforts to bring this project to fruition.”
