Farmingville, NY – On Tuesday, August 3, Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilwoman Jane Bonner and Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon will co-host the annual National Night Out at Fireman’s Memorial Park in Ridge from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This free, annual event promotes police-community relationships and neighborhood camaraderie. It encourages adults and children to interact with members of law enforcement to help create a true sense of community. Attendees can play games, win prizes and interact with vendors, organizations and members of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s office, firefighters and first responders. There will be games and giveaways, DJ music, bingo games, vehicle displays, dancing, Safety Town, ball hockey, child and senior ID cards, ice cream, BBQ, softball games, tug-of-war and a special New York Rangers hockey alumni appearance. The event is co-sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s office. Go to www.suffolksheriff.com for more information about National Night Out. The Town of Brookhaven’s Fireman’s Memorial Park is located at 724 Middle Country Road in Ridge.

Supervisor Romaine said, “I thank Sheriff Toulon and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s office for working with the Town to organize this year’s National Night Out. It is an important community event that gives adults and children the opportunity to get up close and personal with law enforcement in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.”

Sheriff Toulon said he appreciates the ongoing support the Town of Brookhaven and the community has shown to the law enforcement community. “This event gives everyone the opportunity to interact in a social way, and I know how our deputies, correction officers, and civilian enjoy the experience. I hope many families from throughout Suffolk County will come out and have a great evening with us,” said Sheriff Toulon.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “National Night Out in the Town of Brookhaven is a great tradition and I am happy to join with Supervisor Romaine and Sheriff Toulon to help make this event such a big success. It’s important that residents and law enforcement become familiar with each other so we can all work together to make Brookhaven a better place to live.”
