Town Seal

Farmingville, NY - On July 24, Supervisor Ed Romaine was on hand for the dedication of the newly renovated shrine of St. Jude at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church located on Overlook Drive in Mastic Beach. The new shrine replaces one that stood at the site since the 1940s and consists of a renovated building to house the shrine statue, stations of cross, an open-air pavilion and bench in a beautifully landscaped garden. The project was completed thanks to the generosity of the St. Jude parishioners and supporters who donated over $1.2 million to complete the project. Pictured left to right are former St. Jude Church Pastor, Monsignor Joseph Mirro; Supervisor Ed Romaine; NY State Senator Alexis Weik; Monsignor John Heinlein, Diocese of Rockville Centre Bishop Robert J. Coyle, St. Jude’s Pastor John Ryan; Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone; Suffolk County Legislator Jim Mazzarella; and Bob Vecchio, President of the William Floyd School District Board of Education and St. Jude Parish Trustee.
