Farmingville, NY - On July 25, Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony for Sean T. Hallisey from Boy Scout Troop 377 in East Setauket. The event was held at the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Mount Sinai. Sean’s service project was to create two community signs and a book box for the South Setauket Park which has been heavily used. Pictured left to right presenting proclamations to the new Eagle Scout are NY State Assemblyman Steve Englebright; Sean T. Hallisey; Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn and Councilmember Kornreich.

Councilmember Kornreich said, “Duty, honor, hard work, and caring for the community are all ideals that we aspire to, but Sean has demonstrated them. The community is proud of Sean for all of his accomplishments.”

Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
