Meet Twistee! She was picked up stray by a Good Samaritan and brought to the Animal Shelter in hopes of finding her family. Sadly, that never happened for her. Twistee seems as though she has not been exposed to much, so as you can imagine she was scared and unsure of all the new people at the shelter. Who knows if she had ever been introduced to dogs or cats but her behavior was leading us to believe she had not. This is a very different and for some a difficult situation to navigate. She has come a long way but still gets shy and acts silly at times around loud noises or trucks going down the road. Everything seems like it is the first time she is experiencing it and she does so quietly, cautiously and in her own time. She can be warm, playful and fun when she knows you. Once you are her friend you are always welcome and she wants to be with you. Twistee continues to work on her socialization and training with our staff and volunteers. During her stay at the shelter we plan on helping her with everyday experiences and exposure to as many things as possible to make the journey into a loving home as smooth as possible. Twistee is hoping that a wonderful family comes her way and falls head over heels making her a member of their clan. Twistee will do best in an adult only home, she was so afraid of the cats she could not get away quick enough. If you have a dog and are interested we will test her but for now we are focusing on her developing human bonds. She is 53 pounds and estimated to be 2-3 years young, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped and heartworm negative.
