Farmingville, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro, Councilman Daniel Panico and Councilman Michael Loguercio announced the completion of a 27-road, $1.8-million paving project in Shirley.

Crews milled over 200,000 square yards and used more than 26,000 tons of asphalt to make the 27 roadways in this paving project safer for motorists and pedestrians, while beautifying the community. In addition, Brookhaven Highway crews raised, refurbished and installed more than 100 drainage structures.

“The completion of this large paving project entirely finishes a Shirley neighborhood that we began in 2015,” said Superintendent Daniel Losquadro. “It is very satisfying to see the progress we are making in communities across Brookhaven.”

Councilman Daniel Panico said, “Highway Superintendent Losquadro works hard to meet the service needs of the community, and I look forward to working with him on future projects that will benefit our mutual constituents.”

“Once again the hardworking folks in our Highway Department have successfully completed another paving project, helping to keep our streets safe and looking beautiful,“ said Councilman Michael Loguercio.

Roads paved during these projects include: Alder Lane, Arrowhead Drive, Chestnut Lane, Corbin Avenue, Cypress Lane, Essex Circle, Heston Road, Holly Lane, Huron Road, Laurel Lane, Linden Lane, Maple Lane, Merrick Road, Northern Boulevard, Olive Lane, Ostend Circle, Park Avenue, Park Circle, Pinetop Drive, Propose Road, Ridge Road, Roberts Road West, Rockledge Drive, Schenk Drive, Stuart Road, Surrey Circle and Tudor Road.
