Farmingville, NY – On September 26, Supervisor Ed Romaine (at podium), was a guest speaker at the 2021 Memorial Service held at the Brookhaven Volunteer Firefighters Museum in Ridge. The museum is a not-for-profit organization that educates visitors about the history of volunteer firefighting. Its mission is to exhibit the history and heritage of firefighting through artifacts and maintained pieces of vintage firefighting apparatus as a means of education and a memorial to firefighters who have passed. Joining the Supervisor at the event was Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich (left) and Councilwoman Jane Bonner (right).
Supervisor Romaine said, “Volunteer firefighters put their lives on the line every time they respond to a call. It’s a difficult job and some make the ultimate sacrifice. We must honor their heroism and support the firefighters who continue to serve in spite of the danger.”
