Farmingville, NY – Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced the Town of Brookhaven’s annual Youth Bureau INTERFACE Thanksgiving Food Drive provided holiday meals for 1,016 families in need and the total amount of food collected came to 8,636 pounds. On November 20 and 21, the INTERFACE Program and JVC Broadcasting also hosted a food drive event at Compare Foods in Patchogue. As in the past, P.J. Gelinas Junior High School in East Setauket, Sachem North and Sachem East High Schools helped to collect food, as well as grocery gift store donations. “Many families in Brookhaven Town are struggling to put food on the table and the COVID-19 pandemic has only made this situation worse,” Supervisor Romaine said. “The Youth Bureau’s Food Drive allows these families to enjoy a hearty Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones and reminds us all about the true meaning of the holiday season.”

Councilman Michael Loguercio, Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau, said, “Every year this food drive gives families in need one less thing to worry about and allows them to enjoy Thanksgiving. Thank you to all the residents and local businesses that contributed to this drive, and the Youth Bureau and all the volunteers who make this happen year after year.”

The Youth Bureau INTERFACE Program is a partnership between good neighbors, local businesses and the Town of Brookhaven, united in a common effort to provide help to Brookhaven’s less fortunate residents all year round.
