Farmingville, NY – On Thursday, January 6, Councilman Neil Foley officiated at the honorary street dedication ceremony for retired New York City firefighter, John Patrick “Jack” Fogarty who passed away on August 25, 2020 from a World Trade Center related illness. The Town added “FDNY Firefighter John P. Fogarty” to the Bea Avenue street sign in Ronkonkoma. Mr. Fogarty, who served with the FDNY at Ladder Company 3 in Manhattan, retired in 2002 after for 40 years of service. He was also a United States Army veteran.
Councilman Foley said, “Jack Fogarty was a true American hero as a firefighter and Army veteran who was loved and respected by his colleagues, friends and family. This honorary street dedication is a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to helping people.”
