[ARCHIVED] Councilwoman Bonner Honors Eagle Scouts from Shoreham Troop 161

Farmingville, NY - On April 6, Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the Boy Scouts Court of Honor ceremony for new Eagle Scouts from Troop 161 in Shoreham. The event was held at St. John the Baptist RC Church Parish Hall in Wading River. Troop 161 was first Chartered in 1958 by the Shoreham Fire Company and since its inception they have awarded the rank of Eagle Scout to 120 young men. During this time, many adults have volunteered to support the troop and at the present time, they have over 10 uniformed Scout leaders and a committee of more than 8 members guiding a troop of over 50 Boy Scouts. Pictured (left to right) are Riverhead Town Councilman Bob Kern, Councilwoman Jane Bonner, Eagle Scouts Thomas Constantine, Nayati Eisele, Dominic Geraci, Thomas Lane and James Provencher, and Riverhead Town Councilman Kenneth Rothwell.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Congratulations to this fine group of boys for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. They are outstanding young men who set a good example for their peers to follow. Scouts are the leaders of tomorrow, and from what I can tell from this group, our future is in good hands.”
