Farmingville, NY – On April 11, Councilman Kevin LaValle (left) was on hand to announce the installation of a library book drop box near the front entrance of Brookhaven Town Hall. The drop box can be used to deposit books that are due from any library in the Suffolk Cooperative Library System. It was donated by the Sachem Public Library and installed by Town of Brookhaven Parks Department personnel. The Sachem Public Library is planning to install more drop boxes to be conveniently located throughout the Town of Brookhaven. Pictured with Councilman LaValle are (left to right) Marguerite Barone, President of the Sachem Public Library Board; Neely McCahey, Director of the Sachem Public Library and Robert Down, Head Custodian of the Sachem Public Library.
Councilman LaValle said, “I am happy to accommodate the library’s request for their first remote drop box to be placed in front of Town Hall and I look forward to identifying more locations in the Town to make it even more convenient to return books. Thank you to the Sachem Public Library and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System for choosing Town Hall for the first one.” The Sachem Public Library is located at 150 Holbrook Road in Holbrook.
