Violet is currently homeless and looking for love. The first time we met Violet she was brought to the animal shelter as a stray and then abandoned in the lobby as the finder dropped her leash and walked out. She arrived nervous and shy, sadly it appears that she must have had a few litters. During Violet's stay she made the most amazing turn around. She was a delightful, sweet, affectionate and playful girl. Violet had been adopted to a couple with a dog, she had done well with dogs at the shelter, on playdates and on her meet and greets. Sadly as it turns out Violet prefers not to live with other dogs. She also seems to fancy women over men and does best with a few introductions where you allow her to come to you. Violet has had no issues with the male staff at the shelter during her first or second stay with us. She is an energetic happy girl, who really enjoys stuffies but was scared of the ball. She is strong on leash and will need a patient person to be her hero as she has a lot to learn. She knows sit, is doing very well with leash walking, she waits at doors before being told to go ahead and she is treat motivated. Violet will do best in an adult household as the only pet. More than anything she is looking for a second chance and a family to call her own. She is estimated to be 3-5 years young, 55 pounds, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, housebroken, crate trained and ready to find the love of her life. Could that be you? We hope so!
