Farmingville, NY – On May 5, Supervisor Ed Romaine attended the “National Day of Prayer” ceremony at the Blue Point Bible Church. The National Day of Prayer is observed annually on the first Thursday in May. This day of observance, designated by the United States Congress, askes people “to turn to God in prayer and meditation.” During the ceremony, the Supervisor (pictured at right) presented a proclamation to Pastor Mike Miano (pictured at left) and declared May 5 as a National Day of Prayer in the Town of Brookhaven.
Supervisor Romaine said, “It is appropriate for us to turn to the power of prayer during these trying times. We may think there is nothing we can do to change the world, but there is and the words of Pastor Miano are a good start for us to help make the world a better place to live.”
