Farmingville, NY – - On Saturday, May 14, Supervisor Ed Romaine (left), Councilman Michael Loguercio (third from right) and New York State Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (second from left) joined “Curby,” the Town’s recycling mascot and volunteers from the Middle Island Civic Association for the 14th Annual Great Brookhaven Clean Up. More than 2500 people participated in the clean-up which was held throughout Brookhaven Town. It was co-sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven’s Department of Recycling and Sustainable Materials Management, TEACHERS Federal Credit Union and Keep America Beautiful, Inc. The Annual Great Brookhaven Clean Up is part of a national effort that draws nearly 2.5 million volunteers in more than 15,000 communities across America who come together to pick up litter, renew parks, and clean miles of roadway, rivers, lakes, and seashore.
