Supervisor Romaine and Councilmember Kornreich Join Volunteers for Great Brookhaven Clean Up

Farmingville, NY – - On Saturday, May 15, Supervisor Ed Romaine (right) and Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich (back row, second from left) were at West Meadow Beach in Stony Brook where they joined “Curby,” the Town’s recycling mascot and volunteers for the 14th Annual Great Brookhaven Clean Up. More than 2,500 people participated in the clean-up which was held throughout Brookhaven Town. It was co-sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven’s Department of Recycling and Sustainable Materials Management, TEACHERS Federal Credit Union and Keep America Beautiful, Inc. The Annual Great Brookhaven Clean Up is part of a national effort that draws nearly 2.5 million volunteers in more than 15,000 communities across America who came together to pick up litter, renew parks, and clean miles of roadway, rivers, lakes, and seashore.
