Farmingville, NY – - On May 22, Supervisor Ed Romaine was a guest at the Court of Honor ceremony for new Eagle Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 23 in Center Moriches. The event was held at the Center Moriches Fire Department. Pictured left to right are Supervisor Ed Romaine, Eagle Scout Connor Hipp, Eagle Scout Jeremy Patrick Masterson and Scoutmaster Ryan Person, who was honored by Supervisor Romaine for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout 20 years ago. Connor Eagle Scout project was to build a Blessing Box outside of St. John’s Church in Center Moriches and Jeremy’s Eagle Scout project was to build a Blessing Box at Christ Lutheran Church in East Moriches. In the fall, Connor will attend Nova Southeastern University, majoring in Business Administration and Jeremy will attend Binghamton University to study politics, philosophy and law.

Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
