Farmingville, NY – -NY - On June 4, Supervisor Ed Romaine (right) stopped in at the Hope Day Network event held at the Axis Café in Medford and presented a proclamation to Anthony Pelella (left), Lead Pastor at Axis Church in Medford. The Hope Day Network simultaneously hosted multiple sites across Suffolk, Nassau, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and New Jersey, with projected guests of over 20,000.
The goal of the Hope Day Network, a partner of Convoy of Hope, is to reach out to children and families by meeting some of their most basic needs. Free groceries are distributed along with medical and dental screenings, job fairs, haircuts, games, activities for children and live entertainment. The leaders of AXIS Church in Medford, its congregation, and volunteers have taken part in Hope Day each year, partnering with local businesses, churches, government agencies, and nonprofits in a faith-based effort to assist members of the Brookhaven community who are in need.
