Farmingville, NY – -On June 27, Councilwoman Jane Bonner was the guest speaker at the Coram Civic Association's general community meeting held at the Coram Fire Department headquarters. During the meeting, the civic presented their Community Service Scholarship award to Longwood Senior High School graduate, Ryan Marquez. In addition, Councilwoman Bonner presented Ryan with a Certificate of Congratulations. Starting this fall, Ryan will attend SUNY at Stony Brook. The Coram Civic Association Community Service Educational Scholarship is presented to a public or private high school senior who is a resident of Coram who has demonstrated a record of volunteer services within the community. To be considered for the scholarship, a student must: reside in the hamlet of Coram (Zip Code 11727); be a high school student in their senior year; maintain a 2.7 (B level or 80.0 GPA) or better; have a record of community service; be accepted for enrollment in a post high school formal education program such as college or the career-oriented Adult Education Programs at BOCES including CTE, Health, and Literacy.
