[ARCHIVED] Supervisor Romaine Welcomes Family to New Habitat for Humanity Home in East Patchogue

Farmingville, NY - On July 13, Supervisor Ed Romaine (back row, right) was in East Patchogue for the Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk “Home Dedication” welcoming Allyson (fourth from left) and her children to their new home. They were joined by Habitat for Humanity CEO and Executive Director, Lee Silberman (third from left), Suffolk County Legislator Dominick Thorne (back row, left) NYS Senator Alexis Weik (back row, center), and Suffolk County Legislator Stephanie Bontempi (front row, fifth from right). The home was built by volunteers working with Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk.

Supervisor Romaine said, “It’s always a great day when a family moves into a new home, and I congratulate Allyson and her family and wish them many years of happiness. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk for making the dream of home ownership a reality for this family.”

Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-governmental, and nonprofit organization which was founded in 1976. Its mission is to build "simple, decent, and affordable" housing, and has addressed the issues of housing all over the world. The organization works in partnership with thousands of Suffolk County volunteers, to build and renovate homes in communities where people can live and grow.
