Farmingville, NY - On July 17, Councilman Michael Loguercio attended the “Axis Church in the Park” service at Medford Memorial Park. During the event, the Councilman honored Neil Marturiello for his 27 years of continued service as the Post Commander of the Medford VFW Post 2397 as well as his work for other organizations. This past April, Mr. Marturiello was honored by the Medford Fire Department for 50 years of service. He has been an officer or played an intricate part of the Medford Chamber of Commerce since its inception 27 years ago and as a member of the American Legion for 35 years, he served as its Commander for ten years. He is a member of the Medford Civic Association and in November 2021, he celebrated 50 years of marriage to his wife Ann. He is a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. Councilman Loguercio said," It was my honor to attend the Church in the Park Service and to recognize Neil who is such a wonderful man and someone who has spent decades advocating not only for his community, but for those who serve in our military. His dedication and support throughout the years has not gone unnoticed. I presented him today with a proclamation as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude for all he continues to do.\"
