Farmingville, NY – – On October 16, Councilman Michael Loguercio (right) attended the Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony for Jerry Christopher Ewald (left) from Troop 433 in Middle Island. Jerry’s Eagle Scout project is located at the Swezey-Avey House in Yaphank. This gazebo will also provide a space for local musicians to play for the community.
“Congratulations Jerry on attaining your Eagle Scout rank today. The new gazebo is a great addition to our park and something for all to enjoy when visiting,” said Councilman Loguercio. “Thank you for your continued volunteerism and hard work in our community. We look forward to seeing all the great things you will do in the future.”
Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
