Farmingville, NY – – On October 29, Councilwoman Jane Bonner (left) and New York State Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio attended the Court of Honor ceremony for (left to right) Kyle Ecker, Kyle Fehling, Nolan Goddard and Jack Serrentino from Boy Scout Troop 204 in Miller Place. The event was held at Miller Place High School. Councilwoman Bonner said, “Congratulations to Kyle, Nolan, Jack and Kyle for completing their projects and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Boy Scouts are the leaders of tomorrow, and from meeting these four outstanding young men, I can say that we’ll be in good hands.”
To become an Eagle Scout, one must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, demonstrate leadership, and perform an approved community service project. Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
