Farmingville, NY – – On November 19 and 20, the Town of Brookhaven’s INTERFACE Program and JVC Broadcasting hosted a food drive event at Compare Foods in Patchogue. The 12,008 pounds of food collected by the drive provided holiday meals for 1264 families in need. Pictured are JVC Broadcasting’s on-air radio personality, “The Wiseman” (left) and Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine (right). The All Suffolk Car Clubs, P.J. Gelinas Junior High School in East Setauket, Sachem North and Sachem East High Schools helped to collect food, as well as grocery gift card donations.

Supervisor Romaine said, “There are so many families in Brookhaven Town that are struggling to put food on the table every day, but we are here to help them. The Youth Bureau’s Food Drive help these families enjoy a real Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones and it also reminds us about the true meaning of the holiday season.”

The Youth Bureau INTERFACE Program is a partnership between good neighbors, local businesses and the Town of Brookhaven, united in a common effort to provide help to Brookhaven’s less fortunate residents all year round.
