Brookhaven Supervisor Romaine Surveys Work at New Moriches Bay Rec Center in Center Moriches

Man gets tour of construction while others work

Farmingville, NY – Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine, left, and Parks Commissioner Ed Morris, recently visited the former Knights of Columbus facility on Frowein in Center Moriches, to survey significant renovations as the building is transformed into the Moriches Bay Recreation Center. When completed, the recreation center will include new meeting space for local community and student organizations, a computer lab and kitchen. Last September, the Supervisor and Councilman Panico helped to cut the ribbon at the adjacent multipurpose athletic field, which is being used by several youth organizations. This synthetic turf field accommodates football, lacrosse and soccer. The Moriches Bay Recreation Center is expected to open sometime in May.
