Farmingville, NY - On January 14, Supervisor Ed Romaine honored Boy Scout Eric Matthew Corn during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony held at the VFW Victory Post 414 in Center Moriches. Eric attained the rank of Eagle Scout with his Bat Box project at Marina 5 in Mastic Beach. He was inspired to build it after seeing how many mosquitos there were near the water at his grandmother’s house. Eric has earned 31 Boy Scouts of America Merit Badges and six special awards. Eagle Scout is the highest advancement in Boy Scouting. Since 1912, more than two million Boy Scouts have earned the rank of Eagle. In the words of the Eagle Scout promise, “Eagles do their best each day to make their training an example, their rank and their influence count strongly for better scouting and better citizenship in their troop, in their community, and in their contacts with other people. This is their pledge, their sacred honor.”
