[ARCHIVED] Brookhaven Town Youth Bureau Launches “Girl Talk” Free Support Group for Teen Girls

Farmingville, NY – – On Monday, February 27, the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau launched Girl Talk, the free support group for girls. “Girl Talk” is a small group discussion that will cover a variety of topics that are important to girls from 13 to 16 years of age. Topics include Managing Anxious Thoughts; Healthy Coping Skills; Relaxation & Self-Care Tips; Healthy Dating and Relationships; Self-Esteem & Self-Image; and Goal Setting for the Future.

The ”Girl Talk” group meets at the Youth Bureau office located at Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill in Farmingville on Mondays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Upcoming “Girl Talk” dates are scheduled for March 13; March 20; March 27; April 3 and April 10. The Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s mission is to support and encourage the moral, physical, mental and social well-being of youth in Brookhaven Town. They provide services, programs and counseling for young people up to 24 years of age, while also monitoring and providing oversight for several youth agencies and programs that receive funding through Brookhaven Town.
