Town Accepts Donation of Prom Dresses for Youth Bureau’s “Prom Wishes Come True Boutique

Farmingville, NY – – On March 7, Lindsay Blaszcyk, (center) a teacher and union delegate at South Country Central School District, stopped by Brookhaven Town Hall prior to a trip to Albany to lobby for mental health funding for schools. At Town Hall, she donated prom dresses and gowns for the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s “Prom Wishes Come True” prom dress drive. The Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau provides teens with an opportunity to attend their prom in style, regardless of financial constraints. The Prom Boutique, located on the second floor in Brookhaven Town Hall, is outfitted as a dress shop filled with prom gowns in a broad range of styles and fashions. Students are outfitted with a gown of their choice and other accessories that are theirs to keep. There is no charge for this service and all clients are kept strictly confidential. The program will run from March 13 to June 16, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Evening hours will be on March 30, April 20, May 22 and June 8 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. All visits to the Prom Boutique are by appointment only.
