Farmingville, NY – At the May 4 Town Board Meeting, Deputy Supervisor Dan Panico honored William Floyd High School Junior, Kassidy Chamberlain for her outstanding achievement in academics and music. Kassidy’s accomplishments include All-Eastern accolades from the National Association for Music Education; two perfect scores on both flute and piccolo at the 2022 All-State Solo Festival; selection as an alternate for this year’s New York State All-State Band on both instruments. Kassie is an active member of the William Floyd High School Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Pep Band, Concert Choir, Chorale, Acabellas, and Flutella Flute Quartet, and she has been nominated, selected, or performed with the Suffolk County Music Educators Association (SCMEA) All County Bands and Choruses every year since the 5th grade. Kassidy has been recognized for her dedication to music education by being awarded the SCMEA Scholarship twice, which has allowed her to attend the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy and pursue private flute study and Kassidy has maintained an average of 96 throughout her high school career.
