Farmingville, NY – – On May 11, Brookhaven Town Clerk Kevin LaValle reflected on his first 100 days in office, highlighting his most recent initiatives and what the future holds for the Town Clerk’s office.
Town Clerk LaValle said, “I have started the process of upgrading the technology within the Clerk's office. Whether it be the programs our employees use or the security of our records, it has been great to work with the IT department and begin the process of modernizing the Town Clerk's office.
When I took office, I was given the task of heading a multi-million-dollar renovation for our town Record Center. I am happy to say that this June the renovations will begin. When completed the Town of Brookhaven will have a regional Record Center with the ability to not only house and scan our towns records securely but also work with other municipal entities to do the same. Throughout the last 3 months, I have attended dozens of community events, established a social media presence, email contact list and started making informational videos for channel 18. These initiatives have and will give me the ability to help inform the public what the office does and how we can be of service to the public throughout our township.
Lastly, I want to thank all the employees in the Clerk's office. This is one of the largest Town Clerk's staff on Long Island due to the sheer number of people that come into the office and work that must be done. I want to thank the staff for their professionalism, enthusiasm and hard work. Nothing can get done without having a great team. While we have gotten off to a quick start, I am looking forward to the upcoming months and years in making this the best Clerk's office not only in the county but in our state.”
