Farmingville, NY - The Town of Brookhaven’s Division of Women’s Services will hold its 14th annual Conference on Saturday, September 30 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event will be held in the 2nd floor Auditorium at Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill in Farmingville. Advance registration is required on our event page. The Women’s Services Conference sign-in and breakfast starts at 8:00 am. Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine will welcome the attendees at 9:00 am. Space is limited, and the registration deadline is September 22.
This year, the Division of Women’s Services Conference will address the difficult yet important issue of Human Trafficking; an unfortunate reality that affects many young women. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney will deliver the keynote address at 9:30 am. At 10:45 am, there will be a “Human Trafficking 101” panel discussion featuring Suffolk County Police Department Detective James Johnson; Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Amanda Burke; Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Vanessa McEvoy; and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) Stephanie Muller. There will be a question-answer session following the panel discussion.
