Town Seal

Rocky Point, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich have announced the completion of two paving projects in Port Jefferson Station.

In the first project, crews inspected drains and repaired and replaced damaged concrete including 18,700 square feet of sidewalk, 4,400 linear feet of curbing and 5,700 square feet of aprons. The following roadways were then resurfaced: North Bicycle Path, Greene Avenue, Ithaca Avenue, Long Street, Orange Avenue, Sullivan Avenue, and Todd Court. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $1.2 million.

In the second project, crews repaired damaged aprons, sidewalk and curbing and inspected drains prior to resurfacing Lamport Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $76,000.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “The North Bicycle Path paving project involved a number of very heavily traveled roadways as well as a school zone. Teachers, staff, students, residents and pedestrians in the vicinity of Comsewogue High School now enjoy new, safer sidewalks and roadways as they travel in the area.

Councilmember Kornreich said, “It’s important for our roads to be properly maintained for the safety of our residents. Thank you Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro for your team’s efforts in completing the resurfacing project on North Bicycle Path and its surrounding area. We appreciate you for working with our office to address areas of concern in my district. I would also like to thank our residents and encourage them to keep reaching out to let us know what you're seeing out there and how the Town of Brookhaven can help.”
