Farmingville, NY – On January 16, 2017, at their Holiday Party program, Councilmember Valerie M. Cartright (right) was honored to swear in the officers and board members of the North Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce. The chamber serves Shoreham, Wading River, Rocky Point, Sound Beach, Miller Place, Mount Sinai, Port Jefferson Station and Terryville. The installation takes place annually on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and this year members joined the Councilwoman in making or renewing a commitment to go a step further to make Brookhaven even better. Councilwoman Cartright provided pledge cards and many attendees made a written commitment to do more with their personal time and resources in the spirit of Dr. King's legacy of service.
"This Chamber of Commerce has much to be proud of including this year’s successful Family Fun Day in Terryville. Their focus on economic empowerment for their members benefits all residents of north Brookhaven and the town beyond," stated Councilwoman Cartright. “I congratulate the new Officers and Board Members and appreciate the opportunities we have to work together.
