Councilwoman Cartright Recognizes Meals on Wheels Volunteers

Two people hold award certificates with three others

Farmingville, NY –  Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright joined Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn and New York State Assemblyman Steve Englebright at the Annual The Three Village Meals on Wheels Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. The event, held at The Old Field Club in East Setauket, drew a full house of friends and supporters. The celebration this year highlighted the works of Denis Lynn, Ernest Rositzke and Kate Thomas for 20 years of service and for Frances Gates, 25 years of service.

“The dedication of volunteers who make up the Three Village Meals on Wheels is unmatched,” said the Councilwoman. “I applaud the herculean efforts of this worthy organization and for those volunteers who have been involved for decades. Meals on Wheels does more than deliver food, it provides emotional sustenance to the homebound in Brookhaven’s Council District One and beyond.”

Three Village Meals on Wheels coverage area includes Mount Sinai to the east, Stony Brook to the west, areas of northern Coram and Selden to the South and everywhere in between. It is an all volunteer non-profit organization that is supported by the communities it serves. They can be reached at 631.689.7070.
