Councilman Foley Thanks Boy Scout from Troop 329 for Completing Project at Blue Point Nature Preserv

Three kids and one adult on track

Farmingville, NY –  On Saturday, April 29, Councilman Neil Foley stopped by the Town’s Blue Point Nature Preserve to thank Boy Scout Connor Spencer (center) from Troop 329 who painted markers delineating quarter mile increments at the passive park. The project was completed as part of Connor’s Star Scout rank advancement. To attain Star ranking, a Scout must perform six hours of service to others. This may be done as an individual project or as a member of a patrol or troop project. Also pictured are Ryan Milazzo and Alfonso Zavala who assisted Connor with his project.

The Blue Point Nature Preserve was constructed by the Town on a 20 acre site that was formerly occupied by a nursery, but had been vacant for many years. The park includes a walking path throughout, benches and a pergola.
