Farmingville, NY –  On June 14, Councilman Kevin LaValle was the keynote speaker during the Flag Day ceremony held at Eugene Auer Memorial Elementary School in Lake Grove. At the event, the Councilman spoke of the importance of the American flag, our country and the role that veterans have played in the defense of freedom. Students also read essays and sang patriotic songs. The ceremony was attended by teachers, students, parents, veterans and members of the local emergency services.

Councilman LaValle said, “I was honored to attend the Flag Day ceremony and get the opportunity to speak with the students. It’s very important that our young people understand the meaning of our flag and know about the men and women throughout history who sacrificed so much so it could remain flying high in the name of freedom.”
