Farmingville, NY – Councilman Michael Loguercio has announced that he will co-host four Blood Drives this summer in Council District 4. The events will be held in partnership with the New York Blood Center. Those who donate blood at the July 7 and July 10 events will receive a pair of free Mets tickets, and coupons for free Friendly’s ice cream will be given to those who donate at the August 19 and 22 events. Mets tickets will be redeemed online.The event schedule is as follows:• Friday, July 7 from 1pm to 7pm at the South Country Library, 22 Station Road in Bellport• Monday, July 10 from 2pm to 8pm at the Brookhaven Fire Dept., 2486 Montauk Highway in Brookhaven• Saturday, August 19 from 10am to 4pm at the Middle Island Fire Dept., 31 Arnold Drive in Middle Island• Tuesday, August 22 from 3pm to 9pm at the Hagerman Fire Dept., 510 Oakdale Avenue in East Patchogue
Donor requirements are:• Bring Donor Card or form of Identification.• Minimum weight 110lbs.• No new tattoos for past 12 months.• Age 16 – 75 (16 year old donors must have parental permission)Councilman Loguercio said, “When the call goes out for blood donations, we can always count on Brookhaven residents to help. I urge everyone donate at these events or whenever they can. By doing so, you can save lives.
