People dressed in red white and blue for Fourth of July

Farmingville, NY –  On July 4, amidst crowds of participants and waving flags, Brookhaven Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright celebrated Independence Day and marched in the annual Port Jefferson 4th of July parade. “The presence of so many residents, participants, friends and patriots bolsters the spirits on this American birthday” stated the Councilwoman. The parade route started at the Long Island Rail Road tracks and bounded down Main Street, to cheers through Port Jefferson Village.

“We are thankful for the Port Jefferson Fire Department, which sponsors the parade, neighboring fire departments, the Suffolk County Police Department, our girl scouts, boy scouts, and the numerous organizations and individuals who took part today,” added the Councilwoman.
